High cholesterol is a common problem for many people. This is because of our busy lifestyles and consuming too much fast food. But the good news is that there are natural ways that bad cholesterol levels can be lowered. Here are some of the things that have been found to lower the levels of the bad type of cholesterol.
Garlic – This is the natural enemy of cholesterol. When you consume three cloves each day, you can lower your blood pressure, build up your immune system, and help to guard yourself against cancer.
Pomegranate Juice – Recent studies have found that this juice helps to prevent arteries from hardening through reducing the damage to blood vessels.
Green Tea – This delicious drink, consumed through the day, can help you to lower your bad cholesterol levels. It also has some powerful properties of protecting against cancer and providing necessary antioxidants.
Turmeric – Located in yellow mustard and curry seasoning, it lowers your cholesterol and helps to protect against Alzheimer's disease. It can also help protect cigarette smokers from getting cancer.
Walnuts – Just half a cup each day will help with lowering cholesterol. Almonds also can help.
Oatmeal – Eat this every day for breakfast and top it with almonds, walnuts, or blueberries to increase the cholesterol-lowering properties.
Sunflower Seeds – Linoleic acid is abundant in sunflower seeds, an acid that reduces arterial cholesterol deposits. If you use sunflower oil instead of other types of fats, you will feel much better and your cholesterol levels will go down.
Omega 3 – Things such as flax oil, borage, and fish can help lower your levels of bad cholesterol and raise your levels of good cholesterol.
